MO is Mandarin Oriental’s lifestyle magazine for our guests and regular readers.
Each edition offers the opportunity for our readers to win a delightful stay at one of our exclusive hotels by answering questions about a city in which Mandarin Oriental operates.
Where Am I?
Formidable yaks (mythical giants) stand as guardians of this Southeast Asian landmark, a complex of halls, residences and courts. Construction of the buildings began in 1782; today the site spans 60 acres and includes one of the country’s most sacred temples, at the heart of which is a Buddha carved from a single piece of jade. For more than 150 years, the complex was home to the country’s king and his court. Its function as a royal residence ceased in 1946 after the death of the then king, who was found shot dead in his room. Today it is one of the city’s tourist hotspots.
For your chance to win, answer these questions:
Q1. Where in the world am I?
Q2. What is the Buddha in the sacred temple carved from?
Q3. When did it stop being a royal residence?
Prize
Three nights’ accommodation in a Deluxe room at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, including breakfast.
